FAQs

Do I have to be a member to attend or get involved?

Certainly not. The doors for worship are open to everyone who wishes to enter God's house and receive His gifts. You will find all types of people joining us in worship on any given week and you can expect to be most welcomed when you arrive.

To get involved at Grace doesn't require any membership either. There are countless ways to volunteer and find a place to use your God-given talents here. See our Ministries page for just a few ideas to get you started.

Why should I become a member?

Becoming a member at Grace is not like becoming a member at a country club or some exclusive gathering place where all the benefits and privileges are held back til you pay your dues. At Grace you receive the best of all gifts right up front from God the moment you set foot in worship.

The benefit of becoming a member is it means you have confessed before God and your fellow brothers and sisters that you believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. It means you've learned the Christian faith. It means you've chosen to be committed to the Christian faith as well to this body of Christian believers at Grace.

Becoming a member also means you will be able to join us in service to God's kingdom through being on a board or a position of leadership in this congregation. It is a fantastic way to be a steward of all the blessings God has given you in your life.

How should I dress for worship?

You will find people dressed in all sorts of fashions on any given week. You will find some dressed with their "Sunday best" and others dressed casual. Many see this as an opportunity to honor and respect God in his house by wearing something special they don't normally wear during the rest of the week.

Why should I come to worship?

Worship is really about two things. First, it is where God has promised to meet us and bestow upon us His most precious gifts. We understand from the Bible that where the Word of God is shared the Holy Spirit is at work in people's hearts. There are aspects of worship that you just will not find the other 167 hours of the week. And second, worship is about our response to God's gifts given. Worship is about singing praises and giving thanks to God because of what He has done for us.

We emphasize frequent and regular attendance in worship, not because it benefits us as a congregation, but because it is what benefits us as individuals. Being in God's Word and in His house on a regular basis is a means by which our faith grows even stronger and God empowers us to withstand the temptations of the devil and the trials of this life. In a way, its like "food for our soul." You may go a few hours, possibly even a few days, without food for your tummy and you can get by. But you will be hungry! Likewise, you may be able to go a few weeks without "feeding your soul" in worship, yet your faith, your soul, will be so desperately hungry for God and His Word.
